Lore And Legand (Eq2 forums)
August 18th, 2008I have yet to find a list of Mastery quests on this site and i think a list would be a good thing to have. So here is a list of "lore and legand" quests (also known as mastery quests) that will not only help you get exp and travel the world finding new creatures but you will also get some keen door prizes. Now I have yet to find out about all of them but I will update this list as i go.
I will list The name of the quest as best i can then a verry breif description of where to find it and you can use this place http://www.gry-online.pl/eq2/index.asp to find a map of its location. If you have any questions about one please ask and i will try my best to expound on the imformation. Now on to the list …

Lore and legand: Skeleton
Location: Found in library of Stormhold, a book laying on the floor. the first bookshelves you come to will have one shelf fallen over on the oppisit side of where you came in. as you look at the bookcases it will be a green book on the floor inches to the right of the fallen bookcase.

Lore and Legand: Centaur
Location: In The Village of Thundermist in Thundering Steppes, in a bunk bed. Its the first house on your right as you enter the north side of the village i belive.

Lore and Legand: Evil Eye
Location: This quest is initiated by examining the book "Evil Eye Musings". This book is a timed spawn that may be obtained by clicking on a coal bin at +95.69, -160.01, -116.45 in Runnyeye (outside the dining room area).

Lore and Legand: Giants
Location: Book can be found under a bedroll in the Sabertooth Hideout area of Thundering Steppes. As you enter the thundering stepps from the gnoll camp entrance it will be on the left next to a tent in the camp inches from the road.

Lore and Legand: Gnolls
Location: can be found in a box in the "Keep of the Gnollslayer's” in Antonica. the box is on the left as tou enter the main room of the keep.

Location: In Ruins of Varsoon in the room where the skelli tailors are then up ramp into next room. It is a blue book on a small bookshelf.

Location: Enter the Enchanted Lands through the Dock at Nektulos Forest On a small bookshelf.

Lore and Legand: Shadowed Men
Location: This quest is initiated by examining the book "On the Origins of Shadowed Men". This book is a timed triggered item at +4.39, +7.3, -115.52 upstairs in the Academy in North Freeport. We believe you must be level 30+ to pick up the tome. All books found in freeport can be found in Quenos. I have not located information on this as of yet.

Location: is behind a shield in the tower at crossroads in The Common Lands.

Lore and Legand: Elemental
Location: This quest is initiated by reading the book "Summoning an Elemental". This book is a timed spawn at the North Freeport Library (+20.93, -7, -125.13) or in the South Qeynos Mages Tower (+713.15, +41.31, +95.64) behind the stairs of the red teleporter near Dalmas in one of the book stacks in the front. Side note: you must be lvl 25 to access this quest

Lore and Legand: Ghost
Location: In Nektropos Castle

Lore and Legand: Nightblood
Location: This quest is initiated by reading the book "The Nightblood". This book can be found by examining a book in Rivervale at -193.5, -19, -18.82. This is in the tailor shop and guarded by a couple of aggressive halflings. The book is on a timer, so if someone picks it up you will need to wait for it to respawn.

Lore and Legand: Fairy
Location: Getting this book is pretty tricky because from what I could tell, you need to be doing the Everling Locket quest to be able to get access to the area of the castle that the book is located in.
First you need to get to Nektropos Castle. To do this you must have completed the mastery quest for it. Head to the northeast area of the zone to get to Nektropos Castle.
Now, in order to get the Fairy book, you will have to know your way around the place and be doing the Everling Locket quest, to where you gain access to the secret tunnels which connect all of their bedrooms. You must be at the stage of the quest where you have killed the 6 sisters. This is the point where the ghost helping you will unlock the doors in the castle so you can move around. Each of the sisters rooms have a door in them which leads to a series of secret tunnels which link to all the sisters rooms.
Go to the last sisters room, which is the one that spawns the level 40ish triple arrow monster and go through the door in her wall. The monster might attack you, but he cannot move, so just run past him and make sure not to engage him.
Inside these tunnels just walk in and go around the first corner and you will see a pair of double doors which lead into the library. You must obtain the library key or be grouped with someone who has the key in order to get inside.
Once inside there is a bookcase which opens up like a door.
Enter this door and there will be a desk to your right. Examine the book on top of it to get the Fairy Mastery book.

Location: can be found in Enchanted Lands first hut from docks. +49.25, +1.52, +35.8 on the Enchanted Lands Docks. This is near Gimble Featherfinger.

Location: in a crate in one of the tents on the beach in NektulosForest. (Exact loc is 555, -181)

Well thats the list so far. As you can see alot of them are hard to locate but i am sure someone will find them soon and i will update the info when i catch wind on their location.
Also it is good to note that these Quests show up in the "Lore and Legand" tab of your quest jurnal and give some nice rewards.
IMPORTANT:
Alot of these Quests are also timed meaning if you find the item your supposed to click on but you cant click on it dont be alarmed … wait around for a while or come back later and it will be active. once you click on the item you might get the quest or recieve a book. if you recieve a book read it to get the quest. After clicking on the item and reciving the book/quest the item becomes inactive so dont expect to group up with 5 others to go out and get all these mastery quests because you will have to do alot of waiting around.
