T3 harvesting made easy (Everquest spell list)
August 26th, 2008Ever wanted to harvest quick, easy, safe? Well i got your answer. My friend and I found this zone in CommonLands, its an instance and is very small zone with tons of nodes! After you harvest all of them zone out and zone back in. It will give a whole new set of nodes.
These drop tons of rares for all T3. The only thing that can kill you in there are alot of lvl 19 heroics, im a level 37 and they are all greyed out and don't attack.
Don't know if this is a so called 'Exploit' but the zone is like Harvest Heaven! I've gotten tons of rares just in 1 zone in. I make about 3p an hour on average just from harvesting there.
DIRECTIONS
This Zone is called 'The eternal Gorge' It is in the Tower right by the Nekulos Forest Griffon Station. Go to the top of the tower and click the rock and pick 'The Eternal Gorge'.

______________________________________
Lore and Legand: Fairy
Location: Getting this book is pretty tricky because from what I could tell, you need to be doing the Everling Locket quest to be able to get access to the area of the castle that the book is located in.
First you need to get to Nektropos Castle. To do this you must have completed the mastery quest for it. Head to the northeast area of the zone to get to Nektropos Castle.
Now, in order to get the Fairy book, you will have to know your way around the place and be doing the Everling Locket quest, to where you gain access to the secret tunnels which connect all of their bedrooms. You must be at the stage of the quest where you have killed the 6 sisters. This is the point where the ghost helping you will unlock the doors in the castle so you can move around. Each of the sisters rooms have a door in them which leads to a series of secret tunnels which link to all the sisters rooms.
Go to the last sisters room, which is the one that spawns the level 40ish triple arrow monster and go through the door in her wall. The monster might attack you, but he cannot move, so just run past him and make sure not to engage him.
Inside these tunnels just walk in and go around the first corner and you will see a pair of double doors which lead into the library. You must obtain the library key or be grouped with someone who has the key in order to get inside.
Once inside there is a bookcase which opens up like a door.
Enter this door and there will be a desk to your right. Examine the book on top of it to get the Fairy Mastery book.

Also it is good to note that these Quests show up in the "Lore and Legand" tab of your quest jurnal and give some nice rewards.
IMPORTANT:
Alot of these Quests are also timed meaning if you find the item your supposed to click on but you cant click on it dont be alarmed … wait around for a while or come back later and it will be active. once you click on the item you might get the quest or recieve a book. if you recieve a book read it to get the quest. After clicking on the item and reciving the book/quest the item becomes inactive so dont expect to group up with 5 others to go out and get all these mastery quests because you will have to do alot of waiting around.
Get Rid of Fog, Rain, and Underwater Blur (EQ2 Game Pressure)
August 15th, 2008you can completely get rid of any fog, or rain, or any atmospherical effect. You can do this by simply leaving your inventory window open.
What i do is open my inventory, then move it to the the bottom right or left corner of me screen. So that I can barely see the box.
Note: You have to leave at least a sliver of the part of the inventory that your character is show in on the screen.
Note : this will also completely get rid of that annoying fog in Nektulos Forest, or the blurriness caused by egoing underwater.
EQ2 Tutorial Walkthrough (Everquest 2 quest)
August 13th, 2008This is the first version of the EQ2 Tutorial walkthrough. This will provide you with all the pertinent details you'll need to successfully digest, and complete the initial EQ2 "ship" tutorial.
Step 1: Captain Varlos
You'll appear on the ship next to Captain Varlos, double click on the Caption to initiate a conversation. Navigate through the initial conversation, and the Captain will gradually explain where you are, how you got there, and where you're headed.
At the end of the conversation, Captain Varlos will ask you to go speak to his First Mate Waulon, who is located just to the NE of the captain at the back of the ship.
Step 2: First Mate Waulon
Waulon mentions to you he's lost his hat, and you agree to find it. This task will teach you some of the simpler tasks in the game. Run S down the steps of the ship and head to the boxes on the wall at the other end of the ship. Search all three boxes by double clicking them, until a "loot dialogoue" pops up on your screen. You'll see a hat. Click "Loot all", and return to waulon with his hat. A dialogue box will pop up stating Waulon as rewarded you the "Mariner's Charm", click the accept button and the charm will now be in your inventory. Click "i" at anytime to view your inventory.
After returning Waulon's hat he requests you speak to Ingrid….she is located just down the steps to the SW.
Step 3: Ingrid
Ingrid details an issue she's having with the merchant Vim on the ship. She states she desires an artifact (a piece of the "moon) from Vim, and asks you to buy it for her. Problem is you have no money. No problem time to cash in that Mariner's charm Waulon gave you back in step 2. Head to the S up the stairs to Vim.
Step 4: Vim
Double click Vim, and the standard EQ2 merchant dialogue will appear. At this point, click the sell tab, and double click your "mariner's charm" to sell. You'll receive 42 copper for the charm.
Now, click the buy tab. The Shard of Luclin is what Ingrid so desired, so buy it for her! At this point you'll have 42 copper in your coffers, and the shard of luclin will set you back 36. So just double click, and it's yours! At this point head back to Ingrid and present her with her gift.
Captain Varlos calls you back up to the deck.
Step 5: Back to Varlos
Once you run back up to Varlos, the Captain will ask you to clear the ship of the rat infestation which has set upon them. This is a chance to get a little combat practice.
Accept the task, and be sure to "accept" the splintered club the caption offers you in the dialogue box. Once you click accept hit the "i" button to open your inventory. Near the bottom of the inventory screen, double click the splintered club. This will equip the club as your main melee weapon.
Now head down to the lower portion of the ship and target some rats for battle! To target a rat, simply click on it or click the TAB button and cycle around the different rats on the ship. Once you have one targeted, it's time to attack! You'll notice the action bar on the lower portion of your screen. It consists of 13 buttons, and depending on the race you chose 5-8 of them will be filled with options.
However, for all races slot 2 will be equipped with the "melee attack" function. Once the rat is targeted, you can click this button with your mouse cursor, or simply click the number 2 on your keyboard. All buttons are bound to numbers 1-0, and the - and = keys on your keyboard. So now, target that rat and hit the number 2 on your keyboard.
After you've dropped the first rat, double click the carcass to harvest it. After double clicking, "loot" the rodent meat from the putrid animal and head off down the ship to take out the next rat! After killing and harvesting the second rat, head back up to Captain Varlos.
Step 6: Kill the Goblin
After completing the rodent quest, a dragon type creature will attack the ship and free the goblin that was caged next to merchant Vim. Head down and kill that goblin!
After dispatching the green menace, head back up to the Captain, he'll congratulate you and send your on your way to the Island of Refuge!
Your done with the tutorial, and have all the tools you'll need to get started in the actual game.
Congratulations!
Farming a named that drops masters at times (Eq2 traders)
August 10th, 2008Hey, this is especially gewd for the summoner class, cuz this drops one of the best weapons in the game for summoners (40% pet heal)
ok, so first, ya need to be pretty high level i say bout 56+ (im guessing on this, cuz i found this out at level 60) zone into living tombs from sinking sands. run down the sewer line, and jump down into the water, there usually is a group of vvv zombies, easy solo, but can get annoyoing. after you clear them out, there shold be a little tablet of stone in front of you, and just beyond that, there shold be a solo group of zombies, kill those and stand where they spawn, so the vvv zombies dont spawn on you while you are in battle.
to spawn the named (its a triggered spawn, but not always spawns, sometimes you just get a PH) you need to kill 5 sets of mummy/zombie things, all solo level 51ish, the first group is right where you should be standing (a tad bit beyond the tablet of stone with writing) if you were to look straight at the steps where a door is, the gruops of zombies are at your 9 o'clock, 10:30ish, 1:30ish, 3 o'clock directions, you DO NOT need to kill the 2 ghost market enforcers. so after you kill all of the groups of mummies, wait a sec and from the doors (between the 2 market enforcers) there will either spawn 2 mini ghosts, or the named…like tradeskeeper anun or sumthin, he is fairly easy to kill, and will always drop a chest. not a master chest, but a chest, after you kill him, it will take roughly 5 min for the 5 gruops of zombies to respawn which from there you can start of your process of killing.
be aware: when you are killing, dont kill too close to the steps, or wandering zombies will agro (heroic zombies) and dont kill too close to the pool cuz the gruop of zombies there will agro (solo)
General Alchemy Guide (Everquest 2 paladin)
August 7th, 2008In general, I believe EQ2 has a pretty nice crafting system compared to UO, EQ, and SWG of years past. I thought I would summarize a few of the things that I've learned in my first 25 levels of crafting and alchemy.
First, don't try this without a TON of space. In fact, I highly recommend you create another "mule" character and equip with lots of 14 slot bags, rent an apartment, and buy a couple of teak strongboxes for selling all of your trivial crafting stuff. Next, make your way over to your tier 1 zone and get ALL harvesting skills to 20+ so you can start in Antonica/Commonlands.
I would recommend you research and prepare to make inks in bulk. I made 100+ iron gual and carbon inks and although my fingers are sore from clicking, those inks sell for around 1gp each. This requires secondary skill in both harvesting and mining, so you should focus on raw minerals from mining and tuber roots. These items will produce the washes, oils, and reagents for the final combines.
Take the time to acquaint yourself with the new crafting system and the buffs. Each "buff" lasts 4 seconds to cover the length of each tick of the game. There are three such buffs and each one not only "buffs" the next tick and boosts your skill, but also corrects errors that pop up from time-to-time while you're crafting. You have 2 seconds to clear the error with the appropriate "buff" and if you don't you'll suffer in your combine and be caused physical damage in the game. I put the "buffs" on their own menu bar and move near the crafting window so I can see with my peripheral vision when those errors pop up.
Make sure you use the durability buffs if you have any, as the others sacrifice quality for speed, and also, check to see which buff of the three costs power to use. You'll want to avoid overusing that key, as you'll eventually run out of power if you're not careful. Usually drinking water works fine if you're concerned.
What I do is wait until I see positive or negative numbers pop up above the chemistry table (which signifies the beginning of the tick) and very quickly hit a buff before an error has a chance to pop up. If you wait too long after the tick, you may hit the key precisely when an error pops up causing you to use the wrong correction measure and injuring your combine. If you get the timing right, you'll never botch an error correction and buff nearly every tick of the combine.
Watch for a special, rare buff to pop up in the error window. Alchemists Insight. It lasts 7 minutes and improves your crafting durability by 10% if you successfully use the proper buff to activate it. Good luck…
Reliable Money Maker! (Achievement Everquest)
August 5th, 2008Something interesting i think is happening, alot of people are making money from each other in everquest2 because of a repeatable quest which alot of people use as their primary method of producing wealth. What quest am I talking about? The wholesaler Quest, available from every tradeskill instance. If you havent heard about this quest you obviously dont check many posts on this site or any other site for that matter because i see it almost daily!
Alot of people have mentioned the quest but not many have mentioned the other side which i must say is extremely more profitable as you can run this all night and make a fortune. Firstly you need to get your havesting, mining, and other collection skills high enough to havest from Tier2 Resource Locations (Antonica and The Commonlands).
I spend about 2-3hrs out of my day playing everquest collecting resources from these places. The resources I collect are:
Severed Maple
Iron Clusters
Electrum Clusters
Tuber Strands
Rough Turquoise
Average Quality Animal Pelts
When i go out collecting my aim is to get approx. 50 of each type of resource. Afterwards I go and shuve everything in my bank and go and do XP grinding and hunting and looting and all that and maybe do some writs with my guild, whilst getting flamed for being scottish by my guild on teamspeak.
Each night when im about to log-off I go to my inn house and start selling the resources ive collected each day. I Price everything at 40copper each, this means that when people come to buy from me they will pay 48copper at the broker, 40 of which goes to me and 8 which goes to the broker. Now lets do some math!
(Number of Resource) * (Number of Different Resource Collected) * (Price) = Profit
50 * 6 * 40 = 12,000
Now: 100 Copper = 1 Silver So 12,000 Copper = 120 Silver = 1.2 Gold
Every Night I sell out completely! It is always bought, so its not as risky as some other money making strategies ive seen on this site, like the buy low sell High strategy - that looks like it could go seriously wrong! GL Commander on making your profit from that strat
Anyway the number of people you see running back and forth from the npc to the broker each day is incrediable you will always sell it all! Howver it is time consuming and is boring but on the bright side you will be rich indeed and you will also have a large amount of your map explored
See Far Under Water (Eq2 vault)
August 3rd, 2008As you know view range is limited when under water, with this trick you can see under water as far as usual.
This only works in places where waves are high enough (e.g. near beach or rock around water) you should position your camera inside water (better works in third person view when you click left mouse button and move camera with mouse) and move it up slowly untill view range limit gone. Then hold like this for few seconds while waves go higher than your camera and u will see whats under water.
Point is to place your camera between waves (top of water) and unseen box that activates underwater view.
Dont think this ever get fixed because they have to rebuild game engine to fix this one.
